Seneca Planning Commission Approves Rezoning – Now City Council Must Decide

During a meeting of the Seneca Planning Commission last night, a zoning change was recommended for almost ten acres of land to a multi-residential zoning classification. The move will allow developers to cover the parcels behind Bojangle’s on the 123 By-Pass with an apartment complex.

Planning and Development Director for the City of Seneca Ed Halbig said that Connelly Development has plans to construct four apartment buildings containing a total of 60 units. Halbig speculated that with the new construction, there could also be a need for a traffic control device in the area…

Chairman Barry Duvall said that a new traffic signal could help prevent accidents…

The city council will vote on the re-zoning during their May and June meetings.
