Seneca planning for New 911 Com Center

More space and better technology are the two main problems with the Seneca Police Department’s 911 communications center.  Tuesday night at a special work session between the City Council and department heads, Police Chief John Covington told the Mayor and Council that his department’s greatest need is a larger and updated center.   Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander explains.  “The Police Department was talking about one of their pressing needs right now, our dispatch unit is outdated and needs to be replaced.  That is something that we sort of have to phase in overtime.” The Mayor and City Council pledged to work on updating the new 911 communications center; however, finding space for it will need to be their first priority.
