Seneca Police And Seneca Fire Respond To Late Tuesday Morning Accident On Highway 123

(Seneca, SC)—————————–The Seneca Police Department and the Seneca Fire Department responded to a three vehicle accident that occurred just before the lunch hour yesterday on Highway 123 near Wendy’s. According to Captain B.J. McClure of the Seneca Police Department, a Chevrolet Trailblazer was exiting the parking lot of BB&T bank onto Highway 123 when it pulled out in front of a Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck and a collision ensued. The force of the collision, according to Captain McClure, knocked the Trailblazer into a Honda CRV that was in the Wendy’s parking lot exit. The driver and passenger in the Trailblazer were injured, according to Captain McClure and were transported to the hospital for treatment. The driver of the Trailblazer was entrapped for a time due to damage to the driver’s side door, according to Captain McClure and the driver had to be extracted by the Seneca Fire Department, according Seneca Fire Chief Richie Caudill. Chief Caudill said yesterday that the injuries do not appear to be life threatening. 

The accident does remains under investigation. According to Captain McClure, the cause of the collision was due to the Trailblazer failing to yield the right of way.
