Seneca Police Arrest Seneca Woman On multiple charges related to Monday Morning Burglary in downtown Seneca

(Seneca, SC)————The Seneca Police Department has made an arrest in its investigation into a burglary that occurred Monday morning at an office building in downtown Seneca.

43 year old Jennifer Joann Barnette of Seneca was arrested late Monday afternoon and booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on a Temporary Custody Order until arrest warrants were obtained Tuesday.

A Seneca Police Officer on routine patrol observed damage to a door on the side of an office building at 113 North Townville Street, which is at the intersection with Ram Cat Alley, around 5:23am Monday.

The Investigations Division was notified and evidence was gathered, which showed that entry had been made into the building. During the course of the investigation and according to the incident report, a fire extinguisher that was inside the building was located behind a business under construction on Ram Cat Alley. Damage was observed to some electrical meters as well as damage to parts of two additional buildings, according to the incident report.

Based upon evidence gathered as a result of the investigation, Barnette has been charged with one count of Second Degree Burglary, one count of Petit Larceny, and five counts of Malicious Injury to Personal Property.
