Seneca Police chase Car Thief

A man stands charged with five criminal offenses after a pursuit Friday night. The Seneca Police Department reports that 26-year-old Joseph Edward Kinsel of Fountain Inn was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a stolen vehicle, reckless driving, failure to stop for blue lights and fleeing from authorities. An officer spotted a Chevy Blazer with no lights on that narrowly missed a collision with another vehicle on West South 4th Street. The pursuit ended when the SUV went off Gammell Street and hit a tree. The driver, Kinsel, ran into the backyard of a home. After checking the National Crime Information Center database, police determined the Chevy Blazer had been stolen from Westminster.
