Seneca Police Department And Oconee County Coroner’s Office Continuing Their Investigation Regarding Discovered Human Remains

(Seneca, SC)——–The Seneca Police Department and the Oconee County Coroner’s Office are continuing their investigation regarding human remains that have been discovered this week.

According to a press release from the Seneca Police Department, officers were dispatched around noon Monday to an address on Asbury Drive after the dog of a homeowner discovered a large bone.

After a subsequent search of the area that did not produce any additional remains, a medical forensic exam on Tuesday revealed that the bone discovered was that of a human female, according to the Seneca PD release.

An expanded search produced additional human remains in a creek area near Sherwood Drive and Robinhood Drive.

Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said in a press release yesterday that the remains discovered Monday were a right pelvic bone and right femur.

According to the release from the Coroner’s Office, the individual has a height estimated to be 5’1” to 5’7” tall and an estimated age range of 25 to 45 years old.

Coroner Addis said the death of this individual most likely occurred within the last few months up to approximately one year.

Coroner Addis says a specimen was submitted to the SLED laboratory for an attempt to collect DNA for purposes of identification and to compare to known missing persons.
