Seneca Police Department Arrests Belton Man This Week On a Charge of Grand Larceny

(Seneca, SC)—The Seneca Police Department arrested a Belton man earlier this week on a charge of Grand Larceny.

33 year old Jason Durrell Sims was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 1:53pm Monday.

The investigation that led to the eventual arrest of Sims began during the late morning hours on August 8th when officers spoke with a victim at the Police Department who told officers that he had seen a male drive away with his vehicle from the parking lot of a business on West North 1st Street.

As the investigation continued and evidence was gathered in the case, it was determined that Sims drove away in a 2013 Ford Mustang that belonged to the victim without the victim’s consent.

The value of the Mustang stolen by Sims is around $15,000.

Sims was in custody at the Anderson County Detention Center and was transported to the Oconee County Detention Center where he was served the arrest warrant.
