Seneca Police investigating Deadly Stabbing Incident

Late Thursday night, officers with the Seneca Police Department responded to a reported stabbing in the 400 block of South Oak Street near West South 4th Street. Several people were in the roadway upon officers arrival. Large amounts of blood were observed in the roadway and at the residence. The victim, 53-year-old Thomas “Tony” Mark of Seneca had already been taken from the scene by a private vehicle to Oconee Memorial Hospital. He was then airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital a short time later and died in surgery Friday morning. The Seneca Police Department reports that the suspect, 56-year-old Donald Clark Walker of Seneca, was located and later taken into custody near the scene of the incident. Walker was incarcerated at the Oconee County Detention Center on a temporary custody order for attempted murder pending a thorough investigation of all the circumstances. The investigation remains active and ongoing by the Seneca Police Department, which stated that the motive appears to be an ongoing personal conflict between the two individuals.
