Seneca Rail Site receives Fiber Ready Certification

The Seneca Rail Site is the first in the Upstate to receive Fiber Ready Certification from AT&T. This announcement came at Tuesday night’s Annual Meeting of the Oconee Economic Alliance (OEA). With this new designation, OEA Executive Director Richard Blackwell hopes to sell more space in the industrial park positioned strategically between Atlanta, Georgia and Charlotte, North Carolina and just minutes from Greenville, South Carolina. “It is huge, it’s something that we’ve been working to acquire that designation since May of this year and it is going to set us apart and that is what it is all about when from the economic development side is setting yourself apart and I think that is something that is going to help us sell that site and get a new company in there very quickly.” The Seneca Rail Site is a rail served manufacturing park that contains 83 buildable acres. AT&T Regional Director of External Affairs Terrance Ford made the presentation. “It is the first designation of AT&T Fiber Ready for the Upstate of South Carolina. It designates the park and says that there are facilities in the park that are readily available for industries and businesses who want to relocate to South Carolina.” To be considered Fiber Ready, facilities must be in the industrial park that are easily deployable to customers in a quick amount of time.
