Seneca to add Museum Position

At their monthly meeting last night, the Seneca City Council approved a recommendation to re-designate a newly created job position into a museum job.  After sharing his vision for the city to add a second and, possibly, a third museum, Seneca City Administrator Greg Dietterick received permission to re-designate the position as someone to take charge of creating the Strickland Museum, on the grounds of the Lunney House Museum on South 1st Street. As described by Dietterick, the individual to be hired will serve alongside Dr. John Martin, Lunney House Museum curator and director. Dietterick made it clear that Dr. Martin “is not going anywhere” and is in agreement with the action. To establish the position, Dietterick said he has determined that it’s in the city’s best interest for existing employees to handle a project to transfer the city’s paper records to computer files.
