Seneca to honor MLK with Street Banners

The City of Seneca is making plans to pay lasting tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr., the late civil rights leader.  At their monthly work session, the Seneca City Council heard plans on installing permanent banners along South Sixth Street, explains Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander.  “We discussed how we wanted to celebrate Martin Luther King and we are looking at putting the banner up on Sixth Street and that will be the street designated to honor him.  We are looking at banners to recognize him and we are planning a celebration in February as part of Black History Month.” The city is not changing the name of Sixth Street; however, it is simply adding the Martin Luther King designation, so residents will not have to change their addresses.
