Seneca treats Kids at Halloween on the Green

The City of Seneca treated kids at Halloween on the Green Tuesday night at Norton-Thompson Park in downtown. Activities included a costume contest, free hot dogs and candy, and pumpkin painting for kids. Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander was excited to see so many community members. “The weather was perfect, it was too hot and it wasn’t too cold. The kids were out just having a real good time and the parents with the kids, they really enjoyed it. I had a lot of favorable comments about the venue and how we do it. There were a lot of people there last night.” Mayor Alexander thanks city employees for their hard work at the free event. “We’re glad that we are able to do it but we couldn’t do it without all the staff and the people that give it that time too because that is a big event to put on. We gave out 3,000 hot dogs; they were cooking and wrapping. The council was out there last night.” You can see photos from Halloween on the Green taken by the City’s Photographer Jim Bandy online, continues Mayor Alexander. “We’re very appreciative of what Jim does because he allows people to see the event through pictures and he does an excellent job.” To see pictures, visit the Photo Gallery on the city’s website at www.seneca.sc.us.
