Seneca Woman Sentenced To 18 Years In Federal Prison On Drug Charges

(Seneca, SC)—————-A Seneca woman has been sentenced in federal court after pleading guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine. 37 year old Tabitha A. Hammond was sentenced to 18 years in federal prison. 

According to a press release, a deputy from the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office on August 8th, 2017 on routine patrol observed a vehicle that failed to signal when turning and then turned quickly into a residence before the deputy could initiate a traffic stop. The deputy observed a defective brake light and initiated the stop. After receiving consent to search the vehicle, the deputy located more than five pounds of Methamphetamine in a bag belonging to Hammond, who admitted to the deputy that she was engaging in drug trafficking activity.
