Severe Thunderstorms Cause Damage In Seneca Monday Afternoon

(Seneca, SC)—The severe thunderstorms that made their way through Seneca yesterday did cause some damage in some areas of the city.

According to Seneca Fire Chief Richie Caudill, numerous trees were down on streets and structures and there were some power outages reported as well.

One of the hardest hit areas was East South 2nd Street at the Blue Ridge Arts Council building.  As of this morning, a large branch of a tree was blocking a lane of travel near the intersection of South Townville Street at East South 3rd Street in Seneca.

About a mile from Walhalla, our county weather observer Barbara Wilson reported only 0.34 of an inch of rain but amounts in other parts of the county, including Seneca, were higher.
