Sewer Improvements coming to OC

The Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority Board approved bids on improvement projects at their regular monthly meeting Monday night. The projects include enhancing capabilities within the eastern end of their service area near Clemson. One of them guarantees service to the group that is planning the EPOCH student housing complex off Highway 123 behind the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks. In another project, the board approved $287,000 for a design-build project in which the company, McCormick and Wallace, will place a bar screen at the Cane Creek pumping station, which will save wear and tear on the pump and reduce overflows in the Walhalla area.
