Sewer Overflow Notification in Pendleton

On January 26, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, approximately 2,000 gallons of sewage overflowed at the Town Creek Pump Station off East Queen Street in Pendleton due to a power outage at the facility. The Town of Pendleton’s Water/Sewer Department promptly dispatched a crew, which stopped the overflow and neutralized the spill using hydrated lime. To the best of the department’s knowledge, the overflow did not reach any body of water. Officials recommend avoiding the vicinity of the site for the next week to allow the area to return to its natural state, with no further public action required at this time; updates will be provided if necessary. For questions, contact Assistant Public Works Director Terry Reed at 864-646-9073. The town apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
