Shooting on Carradine Road in Seneca

Early Wednesday evening, deputies from the Uniform Patrol Division and the Criminal Investigations Division of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting in the Seneca area at an address on Carradine Road near Shiloh Road. When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered a 14-year-old female with a gunshot wound to the forehead. The victim stated verbally to deputies that she accidentally shot herself in the head. The victim was loaded into an ambulance by paramedics and transported to a landing zone where she was then airlifted to the hospital. The case has been turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division and according to Captain Greg Reed of the Criminal Investigations Division, the incident remains under investigation.
