SHS Coach proud to repeat as Upper State Champs

On Saturday, the Seneca High School (SHS) varsity baseball team competes for the AAA State Championship for the second year in a row. SHS Varsity Baseball Coach Andy Bay is very proud of his boys and their accomplishments this year. “Obviously I’m very proud. This is a very resilient group of boys. We set some goals early to get back, which is very hard to do with a different team. We did loose some key pieces from the team last year that made the run they made and came so close to winning the State Championship. So, to get back there this year has really been special to watch these kids rally. We dropped some games early that we didn’t feel like we should have, they just keep working and keep finding ways to win. So, here we are two Upper State Championships in row.” This year, the Bobcats look to avenge last year’s loss in the AAA State Championship Series to Bishop England that went three games. Game 1 is scheduled for 2pm Saturday, May 12, in Charleston. Game 2 is scheduled for 6pm Tuesday, May 15, at Coach Mac Field at SHS.
