SLED Charges Greenville County Man With Attempted Murder After Officer Involved Shooting In Anderson County

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division recently charged a Greenville man will Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During Commission of a Violent Crime in regards to an officer involved shooting in Anderson County last week. 

38 year old Brian Joseph Stoltie was booked into the Anderson County Detention Center. The SLED investigation was requested by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and the case will be prosecuted by the 10th Circuit Solicitor’s Office. 

According to the arrest warrant, Stoltie is accused of firing multiple rounds from a pistol at an Anderson County Sheriff’s Office deputy after the defendant hid in a woodline and was laying in wait for law enforcement to approach his position. Stoltie is also accused of firing at the deputy while running through an adjacent field, striking the deputy’s vehicle with a bullet while the deputy was inside of the vehicle in the incident that occurred on Wright School Road that had several eyewitnesses.
