Smith appointed to Capital Projects Sales Tax Commission

First year city employee Mollie Smith has been appointed by Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander to represent the city on Oconee County’s Capital Projects Sales Tax Commission.  The mayor made the announcement on Wednesday.  The Sales Tax Commission is responsible for deciding which projects should be funded by a proposed 1-cent sales tax increase.  Oconee County voters would have to approve the tax in a referendum on the November 2014 General Election ballot.  The county advisory panel consists of six appointed individuals, three from the local municipalities and three from the unincorporated areas of the county.
