Solicitor wants Gag Order issued in Bartee Case

With media attention swirling around the case of former Oconee County Sheriff’s candidate James Bartee, 10th Circuit Solicitor Chrissy Adams has requested a gag order be issued.  Bartee stands charged with plotting the kidnapping of a retired judge, who sought to have him disqualified as a candidate for sheriff.  A hearing on the motion is scheduled for 10am Thursday in the Anderson County Courthouse. No explanation for seeking the gag order was given but the announcement comes after Bartee’s lawyer, Jake Moore gave an interview to the Independent Mail and WGOG.  Bartee was one of four candidates for Oconee County Sheriff when SLED agents arrested him last May.
