Sounds of the Season from the SHS Choral Department

The Seneca High School Choral Department will present “Sounds of the Season” Thursday, December 6 at 8:00pm. The program will feature the Women’s Chorus, Mixed Chorus, Honors Women’s Chorus, Honors Chorale and Madrigal Singers.

The concert will open with the Madrigal Singers singing a beautiful German rendition of “Stille Nacht” from the balcony of the church, followed by the Women’s Chorus with members of the Seneca High School piano class accompanying on tone chimes . Seneca High School’s Mixed Chorus will sing three selections including “Betelehemu” and “Mary, Did You Know?”. The Madrigal Singers will perform a variety of a capella Christmas selections with Emma Shirley and Ellie Cannon as soloists, and the select Honors Women’s Chorus will perform with choreography by Mrs. Pam Jennings. The award-winning Honors Chorale will close the concert.

Guest musicians for the concert are classical guitarist Dr. Lyman Golden and his daughter Mrs. Leah Wilson on flute.

Ms. Diane McFarlane is director of the choral ensembles and Mrs. Masheila Cobb is the accompanist. Mrs. Felicia LeRoy is the principal at Seneca High School. Dr. Sandra Sloan, Seneca area school board trustee, will provide the welcome.

“Sounds of the Season” will take place at Seneca Baptist Church. Admission is free and open to the public.
