South Carolina Highway Patrol And Anderson County Coroner’s Office Investigating Two Fatal Labor Day Weekend Accidents

(Seneca, SC)—The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Anderson County Coroner’s Office are investigating two fatal accidents that occurred in Anderson County over the Labor Day weekend. 

The first accident occurred early Saturday afternoon on Mountain Springs Road in which a GMC box truck went off the right side of the roadway and struck some trees. 

The driver of the vehicle, 33 year old Carlos Deandre Sanche Williams of Greenwood, died at the scene due to blunt force trauma. 

According to the Coroner’s Office, Williams appeared to be a contract worker for FedEx and was apparently delivering in a UHaul truck completing deliveries.

The second accident occurred early yesterday morning on I-85 southbound south of Pelzer. 

In that accident, a 2006 Chrysler traveling north in the southbound lane of I-85 near mile marker 34 struck a 2002 Volkswagon that contained a driver and three occupants. 

Two of the occupants in the Volkswagon died, according to the Highway Patrol, while the driver and the other passenger from Roswell, GA, were transported to the hospital. 

The driver of the Chrysler was also transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
