South Carolina Highway Patrol And Anderson County Coroner’s Office Investigating Two Fatal Weekend Anderson County Accidents

(Seneca, SC)—–The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Anderson County Coroner’s Office are investigating two fatal accidents that occurred over the weekend in Anderson County.

First, a fatal single vehicle accident occurred on Lewis Street near Monitor Drive near the city of Anderson around 1:45am Sunday.

The Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased as 29 year old Brandon Christopher Fennell.  The Coroner’s Office said that the victim sustained multiple traumatic injuries and was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:05am.

The Coroner’s Office says that toxicology tests are pending.

The Highway Patrol says the accident involved a 2004 GMC Yukon.  According to the Highway Patrol, Fennell was ejected from the vehicle.

Troopers said the vehicle was traveling north on Lewis Street, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment and tree and overturned.

The Coroner’s Office says that the victim appears to have been attempting to evade a traffic stop by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

Second, a fatal accident occurred late Saturday evening around 10:37pm on Highway 29 north just before Welcome Road and the city of Williamston and involved three vehicles that struck a pedestrian, according to the Highway Patrol.

The Coroner’s Office says the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene from multiple traumatic injuries.

According to the Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was in the southbound lanes of Highway 29 when the three vehicles traveling south on Highway 29 struck the pedestrian.

The Coroner’s Office said that the victim appears to have gotten out of a vehicle that had left the area and was walking in the roadway when she was hit.

The decedent’s name has yet to be released, according to the Coroner’s Office.
