South Carolina Highway Patrol Files Charges In Accident That Sent Five People To The Hospital

(Seneca, SC)—————————————The South Carolina Highway Patrol has filed charges in a weekend accident in Oconee County that sent a total of five people to the hospital. Bradford Craig Bearden has been charged with two counts of Felony DUI Resulting in Great Bodily Injury and one count of Driving Under Suspension, according to Sergeant Bill Rhyne of the South Carolina Highway Patrol. According to Sergeant Rhyne, the vehicle that Bearden was operating sturck at Harley-Davidson Motorcycle and then a Chevrolet Tahoe Saturday around 3:20pm at the intersection of Wells Highway at Highway 123 near Seneca. Both the motorcycle and SUV were sitting at the traffic signal at the intersection when they were struck by Bearden. The driver of the motorcycle was ejected from the bike and was transported to the hospital in Greenville for treatment while the driver of the Tahoe, another adult passenger and two juvenile passengers were transported to Prisma Health-Oconee Memorial Hospital for treatment. At this time, Bearden remains in custody at the Detention Center on a combined almost $43,000 surety bond.
