Sports Update For Friday, March 22nd, 2019; Walhalla Softball Team Picks Up Win Over Westside

(Seneca, SC)————————-The Walhalla softball team picked up a win last night over Westside by a score of 6-4. Cade Robinson had three RBI’s for Walhalla and Shelby Duckett had eight strikeouts for Walhalla. 

The Seneca women’s track team won a track meet at Seneca High School that also involved Wren, West-Oak, Stephens County, GA, Pendleton, Easley and B-HP. The Lady Cats finished with 88 points compared to 78 for Pendleton. The Pendleton men won on that side of the meet with 96 points compared to Seneca, who finished in second place with 65 points. 

In regards to individual and team winners, Micayla Collins from Seneca finished first in the girls 400 meter dash while Carson Towe and Ava Nimmons from Seneca finished first in the girls 800 meter and 1600 meter runs respectively. The Seneca girls also picked up a win in the girls 4×100, 4×400 and 4×800 meter relay. Aubrey Rattley won the girls pole vault while Seneca’s Daizha Mayes from Seneca won the girls Discuss Throw. 

On the men’s side, O’Rell Fisher from Seneca won the boys 100 meter dash while Sam Dodd from Seneca picked up a win in the Boys 400 meter dash. The Seneca men also picked up team wins in the boys 4×400 and 4×800 meter relay’s. Bryce Hamby won the boys Pole Vault while Luke Lynn from Seneca won the boys Shot Put. 

The Clemson and South Carolina baseball teams will be on the road this weekend as the Tigers will travel to Boston College and the Gamecocks will travel to Tennessee. 

The Clemson and South Carolina women’s basketball teams will play today in the NCAA Women’s Basketball tournaments. 

The Clemson basketball team will play Wichita State Sunday in the NIT Tournament at Littlejohn Coliseum with a 2pm tip-off.
