Sports Update For Friday, March 8th; Walhalla Softball and Baseball Teams Pick Up Thursday Night Wins

(Seneca, SC)———————-The Walhalla softball team picked up their first win of the season last night with a 11-1 win over Westside. Shelby Duckett had five strikeouts on the mound for Walhalla while Bailey Wilson and Lydia Phillis had two hits each. Phillis also had three RBI’s for Walhalla. Elissa Rich had two hits for Westside. 

The Walhalla baseball team moved to 2-1 on the season with a 5-1 win over Palmetto. Bubbie Bonadies and Landon Crane had two hits each for Walhalla while Alec Woodard had two RBI’s for the Razorbacks. Aidan Evans pitched 5.1 innings for Walhalla to pick up the win. 

Southern Wesleyan begins a three game series weekend series today at home against Erskine with a 4pm first pitch. 

The Clemson women’s basketball team picked up a huge win in the ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament last night with an 80-79 win over Virginia Tech in overtime in Greensboro. Next up for Amanda Butler’s team is Louisville. 

The Clemson baseball team will open up a three game weekend series against North Carolina at Doug Kingsmore Stadium with a 6pm first pitch. The Clemson basketball team will wrap up their regular season at Littlejohn Coliseum tomorrow against Syracuse with a Noon tip-off. 

The South Carolina women’s team will open up play in the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament today at The Well in Greenville. The South Carolina men’s basketball team will wrap up their regular season tomorrow at Colonial Life Arena against Georgia at 1pm. The South Carolina baseball team will host game one of a weekend series against Valparaiso today in Columbia at 4pm.
