Sports Update For Friday, May 24th, 2019; Clemson Defeats #7 Louisville In The ACC Baseball Tournament

(Seneca, SC)—————–The Clemson baseball team rebounded from a loss in the ACC Baseball Tournament to Boston College with a 7-1 win Thursday over #7 Louisville. 

Mat Clark gave up just one run on one hit over eight innings to pick up the win. 

Next up for Clemson will be a decision on whether the Tigers will qualify for the NCAA Baseball Tournament, with that decision coming up on Monday. 

Eight University of South Carolina football players earned recognition on the 2019 preseason All-SEC units announced by Athlon Sports. 

Two of those players, wide receiver Bryan Edwards and defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw, earned second team recognition while two other players, offensive lineman Donell Stanley and defensive lineman D.J. Wonnum, earned third team honors. 

The Clemson basketball team has confirmed that Jonathan Baehre suffered a torn ACL during practice. There is no timetable in regards to Baehre’s return. Clemson basketball also announced the addition of Texas Tech transfer wing Khavon Moore. Moore was ranked among the top 50 players in the country coming out of high school by Rivals and ESPN before signing with the Red Raiders. 

The South Carolina women’s tennis team finished #5 in the country in the final ITA ranking that has been released.
