(Seneca, SC)—————It is championship Friday night as the Seneca Bobcats and the Pendleton Bulldogs will be playing tonight at Bobcat Stadium at Tom Bass Field for the outright Region 1-AAA Championship.

It is also a championship Friday night for the second-ranked Daniel Lions as they travel to #9 B-HP with a chance to win the outright Region 1-AAAA championship.

Daniel Coach Jeff Fruster says that the Lions like having their fate in their own hands.

“There is some comfort in knowing you control your own destiny,” says Coach Fruster. “I think that provides a lot of drive.”

“We are very familiar with B-HP. We know what their M.O. is, what their team identity is,” continues Coach Fruster. “And it starts up front on that line of scrimmage and they want to be able to establish the run early and often because they know if they do, it sets up everything else they would like to do on their offense.”

Other games in high school football tonight include #8 Laurens at Easley, Powdersville at Liberty, Palmetto at Pickens, Woodmont at T.L. Hanna, Westside at Wade Hampton, #5 Wren at Walhalla and Crescent at West-Oak.

It is Homecoming weekend in Columbia as South Carolina plays host to Vanderbilt in a game you can hear tomorrow night right here on 94.1 The Lake.

South Carolina coach Will Muschamp says that Carolina has a lot of respect for Vanderbilt running back Keyshawn Vaughn.

“I think they have one of the best running backs in the country. Keyshawn Vaughn is a guy that has a big lower body,” says Coach Muschamp. “He is on his way to another 1,000 yard season. He really makes them go offensively. We’ve got a lot of respect for him.”

Airtime tomorrow night will be 6:30pm with the pregame and then kickoff at 7:30pm along the network lines of the Gamecock Radio Network.
