Sports Update For Friday, October 25th, 2019; Seneca scores comeback win against Crescent; sets up conference championship matchup next Friday against pendleton

(Seneca, SC)—-The Seneca Bobcats will be playing for the outright Western AAA conference championship next Friday thanks to a come from behind 25-21 win last night at Crescent.

Seneca quarterback Cole Bay scored the game winning points in the 4th quarter on a touchdown run and the Seneca defense had several key stops in the 4th quarter.

The Bobcats will play Pendleton for the conference championship next week as the Bulldogs defeated Liberty 35-0.

Also last night in high school football, Powdersville defeated West-Oak 47-28, Wren defeated B-HP 55-28 and Daniel won at home over Pickens 45-0.

Tonight, the Walhalla Razorbacks will seek to firm up a bid to the postseason as they travel to Williamston to take on Palmetto.

“It’s pretty simple, we will Friday, we are in the playoffs,” says Walhalla Football Coach Padgett Johnson. “We’ll have two wins in the region, over Pickens and Palmetto, and with Palmetto having already lost to B-HP, Daniel and Wren and that would guarantee our spot in the playoffs.”

Meanwhile, South Carolina will travel to Knoxville to take on Tennessee tomorrow in an SEC Eastern matchup.

“This game at my time at South Carolina in three years has been decided by 12 points,” says South Carolina Head Coach Will Muschamp. “It’s a hard fought game. We’ve got a lot of respect for the University of Tennessee, their program and what Coach Pruitt is doing. We need to expect another four quarter game and we certainly do. The last two games, I think you have seen this team make a lot of improvement.”
