Sports Update For Monday, April 8th; Important Conference High School Baseball Games On Tap This Week

(Seneca, SC)——————-The high school baseball season is heading down the home stretch and some important conference games of the season are coming up this week for both Seneca and Walhalla. The Bobcats have two games with Pendleton this week while Walhalla has a conference game with West-Oak Wednesday night for Senior Night. 

The Anderson Area Touchdown Club and Anderson County will honor the 2018 outstanding players and coaches from the Anderson County high schools today at the Anderson Sports and Entertainment Center. Tickets for the event are $10 for students and $20 for adults. Reservations are required and you can call 864-616-6471 for more information or for reservations. 

High School players and coaches receiving awards are Wren’s Tyrell Jackson, Pendleton’s Clay Martin, T.L. Hanna’s Zacch Pickens and Alex Meredith, B-HP’s Tyshiek Galloway and T.L. Hanna Coach Jeff Herron. 

The guest speaker for the event is former Clemson All-American Wide Receiver Perry Tuttle. 

The White Team defeated the Orange Team 30-10 Saturday afternoon at Clemson’s Death Valley during the Orange and White Spring Game. 

The Clemson baseball team won two out of three games this weekend in a home series with Louisville. 

The Garnet team defeated the Black team 26-18 Saturday afternoon at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia in the annual Garnet and Black Spring Game. 

The South Carolina Baseball team lost a weekend series on the road in the SEC against Alabama.
