Sports Update For Monday, July 22nd, 2019; Two Former Clemson Golfers Finish In Top 20 At The Open Championship

(Seneca, SC)——–Former Clemson golfers Doc Redman and Lucas Glover finished in the top-20 at the 148th Open Championship, the final major golf tournament for this year.

Redman and Glover finished the tournament with a 72-hole total score of 283, which is -1 under par.  Former Tiger golfer Kyle Stanley finished with a 72-hole total score of two over par 286 to finish in 41st place.

Clemson offensive lineman Sean Pollard has been named to the watch list for the 2019 Rimington Trophy, which goes to the top center in the country.

Also nominated to the watch list is Coastal Carolina center Trey Carter.

South Carolina DL Javon Kinlaw and WR Bryan Edwards were selected to the 2019 Preseason Media Days All-SEC teams.

Kinlaw was named second-team preseason All-SEC while Edwards was named pre-season All-SEC third team.

At the SEC Media Days, Alabama was selected to win the 2019 SEC Championship over Georgia.

Georgia was selected to win the SEC Eastern Division with Florida placing second, Missouri third, South Carolina fourth, followed by Tennessee, Kentucky and Vanderbilt.

In the Western Division, Alabama was named the pre-season favorite, followed by LSU, Texas A&M, Auburn, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Arkansas.
