Sports Update For Monday, June 17th, 2019; South Carolina Pitcher Named To Freshman All-American Team

(Seneca, SC)———–University of South Carolina freshman right handed pitcher Brett Kerry was recently named a freshman All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. 

Kerry, who was named to the Freshman All-SEC team as well as a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball, went 4-1 in his freshman campaign with seven saves and a 2.62 ERA. 

South Carolina softball head coach Beverly Smith has announced the transfer of Kassidy Krupit for the upcoming 2020 season. Krupit, who is a member of the United States of America Softball Junior Women’s National Team, is transferring from Baylor where she hit 10 home runs and had 29 RBI’s in her freshman campaign last year. 

The schedule has been announced for Clemson basketball as Brad Brownell’s team will represent the United States at the 2019 World University Games next month. 

The Tigers will be competing in Pool C from July 3rd to July 14th in Naples, Italy.  Joining the U.S. team in Pool C is China, Finland and the Ukraine. 

Clemson will open pool play against Finland on Independence Day, July 4th, at 2pm eastern time, which will be 8pm local time in Italy. 

The top two teams from each pool will then advance to the medal round, which begins on July 8th.
