Sports Update For Monday, May 13th, 2019; Clemson Loses, South Carolina Wins Baseball Series Over The Weekend

(Seneca, SC)——————Clemson lost two out of three games in a weekend baseball series in the ACC at N.C. State, with the Wolfpack winning the rubber game of the series yesterday by a score of 8-3. Clemson will travel to Coastal Carolina tomorrow night for their final road game of the series with a first pitch scheduled for 6pm. 

The South Carolina baseball team won a weekend series against Kentucky in the SEC at home two games to one, even after losing to the Wildcats yesterday 6-2. The final home regular season game for South Carolina is tomorrow night at Founders Park in Columbia against USC-Upstate with a 7pm first pitch scheduled. 

Clemson basketball has announced that former Fordham guard Nick Honor and former Tulsa guard Curran Scott has been accepted as transfer into the Clemson Basketball program. 

Honor led the Rams in scoring in this freshman season, averaging over 15 points a game, while being named to the 2019 Atlantic-10 All Rookie Team. Scott becomes just the third graduate transfer in the history of the program after playing the last two seasons at Tulsa. Last year, Scott averaged 8.9 points a game and appeared in all 32 games for Tulsa last year, making 26 starts. . Scott began his college career at Charlotte. 

Clemson men’s golfer Bryson Nimmer was recently named as the ACC Golfer of the Year while also being named to the All-ACC team. The Clemson team begins play in the Austin, TX Regional for the NCAA Men’s Golf Tournament today.
