Sports Update For Monday, October 28th, 2019; Seneca high school teams win conference championships and compete in postseason competition

(Seneca, SC)——-In college soccer action from over the weekend, the 20th ranked South Carolina women’s soccer team tied 8th ranked Florida yesterday on the road 1-1 while the South Carolina men’s soccer team lost to 16th ranked Kentucky yesterday 4-0.

Mercer defeated Furman yesterday in women’s soccer 2-0 while the 15th ranked Clemson women’s soccer team defeated Pitt yesterday 3-2.

The third ranked Clemson men’s soccer team defeated Boston College 3-1 Friday night to go 13-1-1 on the season.

The South Carolina women’s golf team shot -5 under par yesterday to capture the Landfall Tradition championship over the weekend in Wilmington, NC. The Furman women’s golf team finished 10th in the tournament.

The Seneca Girls Cross Country team won the Region 1-AAA Championship last week, which was their fourth consecutive conference championship. The Girls team will be defending their State Championship.

The Seneca Lady Cats golf team will be participating in the State Championships today and tomorrow in Myrtle Beach after winning the Region 1-AAA Championship recently.

The Lady Cats tennis team will play Mid-Carolina today at 5pm at Seneca in the second round of the playoffs.
