Sports Update For Thursday, November 7th, 2019; Walhalla and Daniel prepare for first round Upper state AAAA playoff action tomorrow night

(Seneca, SC)—–The Walhalla Razorbacks will hit the road to Columbia for their first round game in the AAAA Upper State playoffs tomorrow night against a one-loss A.C. Flora team.

“It’s going to be a big challenge. We’ll have to step up and be able to slow down their running game if we’re going to be competitive,” says Walhalla Coach Padgett Johnson.

Meanwhile, the Daniel Lions will host a playoff game tomorrow as Region 1-AAAA champions as they welcome Lancaster to Singleton Field.

Even though the playoffs are a one and done deal, Daniel Coach Jeff Fruster said that does not change the preparation for tomorrow night’s game or for the playoffs overall.

“You do what got you there. We’re going to continue to do the things that got us there,” says Coach Fruster. “We’re not going to focus too much on the opponent or the situation at hand. We’re all very aware that, you know, a loss would mean the end of the season.”

The South Carolina men’s basketball team won its 19th straight season opener last night at Colonial Life Arena with a 77-55 win over North Alabama.

The Clemson women’s basketball team defeated Furman last night 77-71 for its first win of the year behind 16 points from freshman Amari Robinson.

The Clemson men’s basketball team is back in action tonight at Littlejohn Coliseum as they host Presbyterian at 7pm. The Tigers will be looking for their first win of the season after a loss Tuesday night to Virginia Tech.
