Sports Update for Thursday, October 24th, 2019; Seneca, Daniel and West-Oak to Play week nine games on Thursday night

(Seneca, SC)—Plenty of changes in the high school football schedule this week as some games have shifted from Friday night to Thursday night.

One of those games is the Seneca at Crescent game and we will have coverage of that game tonight right here on 94.1 The Lake with a kickoff time set for 7:30pm.

#2 Daniel will host Pickens tonight at Singleton Field at 7pm. Coach Jeff Fruster says the compressed week can make it difficult when facing a different style of offense.

“The most difficult situation for us is preparing for an offense you don’t see week in and week out, and doing it with one days less preparation” says Coach Fruster. “Pickens presents a lot of obstacles with that offense that they have. We know that the game is going to come down to controlling the line of scrimmage and if we can control the line of scrimmage, I like our chances.”

The West-Oak Warriors will be looking for their first conference win of the season tonight at Powdersville. Powdersville has had a difficult season with a tough schedule and dealing with injuries, however, West-Oak Coach Tim Carson says that Powdersville is still a good football team.

”I think Powdersville is just like Seneca in the sense that they had just a tough non-conference schedule that their record does not indicate how good they are,” says Coach Carson. “It’s going to be a huge challenge this week.”
