Sports Update For Tuesday, March 26th, 2019; Walhalla Pitcher Aidan Evans Signs Letter Of Intent To Play College Baseball At Southern Wesleyan

(Seneca, SC)———————————–Yesterday at Walhalla High School, Razorback pitcher Aidan Evans signed a letter of intent to play college baseball at Southern Wesleyan University. Aidan says that the initial interest from Southern Wesleyan began last fall. Aidan went on an official visit to the school in January and he was offered by Southern Wesleyan last month. 

Evans was also recruited by North Georgia, Piedmont College in Georgia and USC Upstate, among others. Evans says that Southern Wesleyan recruited him as a pitcher with the hopes that he will be placed into the starting rotation. 

Due to last night’s rain we received, several high school sporting events were postponed. According to Seneca Athletic Director Andy Bay, the girls soccer game that was scheduled for last night will now be played on Monday, April 8th with the JV game beginning at 5:30pm and the Varsity game beginning at 7pm. Also, the track meet that the Seneca men’s and women’s team were scheduled to be involved in was postponed as was the Seneca baseball game at Pickens. The Seneca baseball team is scheduled to host Powdersville tonight at 6:30pm. 

All the athletic competitions that Walhalla were scheduled to participate in was postponed yesterday both home and away, according to Alden Broome, Walhalla Athletic Director The Wahalla baseball team will travel to Daniel tonight with a first pitch scheduled for 6pm. 

Also, the Oconee County Golf Tournament was postponed yesterday until this Friday, March 29th. Tee-off is scheduled for 1pm Friday at Falcon’s Lair. 

The Clemson baseball team, 18-6 on the season, will travel to Charlotte for a game tonight with a 7pm first pitch. 

The South Carolina baseball team will open up a four game homestand tonight with a game tonight against North Carolina A & T with a 7pm first pitch at Founders Park.  The Gamecocks are 16-8 on the season.
