Sports Update For Tuesday, May 28th, 2019; South Carolina Men’s Tennis Player Paul Jubb Wins National Championship
(Seneca, SC)—————The South Carolina Gamecocks have a National Champion this morning as men’s tennis player Paul Jubb won the individual national championship last Saturday in the NCAA Singles Championship.
It is the Gamecocks’ first national championship in men’s tennis.
The Clemson baseball team will make its 11th straight appearance in the NCAA baseball tournament as the Tigers were selected as the number 3 seed in the Ole Miss regional.
The Tigers will face Illinois on Friday at 4pm eastern time in a game that will be broadcast on ESPNU. Ole Miss, the number one seed and host team in the regional, will take on Jacksonville State at 8pm eastern time Friday.
The Clemson golf team came up short in their in their bid for a trip to the NCAA golf championship as the Tigers lost to SMU in a five man one-hole playoff for eighth place in their regional. The South Carolina golf team finished 17th in the Fayetteville, AR regional.
