Sports Update For Tuesday, May 7th, 2019; South Carolina, Clemson And Furman Women’s Golf Teams Participating In NCAA Regionals

(Seneca, SC)——————————-The University of South Carolina women’s golf tournament is in 12th place after the first round of the Cle Elum regional in the NCAA Women’s Golf Tournament in Washington State. The Gamecocks shot a team score of 298 (+10). They are currently 18 strokes behind first place Southern California. 

The Clemson women’s golf team is currently in 14th place after the first round of the Auburn regional in the NCAA women’s golf tournament. The Tigers shot a team score of 307, which is 21 strokes behind first place Vanderbilt. The Furman women’s team currently stands in 8th place. 

The Clemson baseball team will host Presbyterian tonight at Doug Kingsmore Stadium with a first pitch scheduled for 6pm. The Tigers stand at 28-19 on the year. 

Eight former Clemson Athletes plus a former Clemson Athletic Director were announced yesterday as inductees into the Clemson Athletic Hall of Fame Class in 2019. 

The inductees are former football players James Davis and Dave Thompson, former baseball player Brian Kowitz, former basketball player K.C. Rivers, former men’s soccer player Jimmy Glenn, former tennis player Mitch Sprengelmeyer, former track and field athlete Karen Hartmann, former swimmer Nadra Simmons and former Athletic Director Terry Don Phillips.
