Sports Update For Tuesday, November 12th, 2019; Two clemson players receive acc player of the week honors

(Seneca, SC)————The AAA Upper State Playoffs continue this Friday with second round games. Those games will include Woodruff at Pendleton, Chapman hosting Newberry, Chesnee at Union County and Camden hosting Broome.

Clemson running back Travis Etienne was named the ACC running back of the Week and Tiger Offensive Lineman John Simpson was named ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week for their performances in the Tigers 55-10 win over N.C. State last Saturday.

Meanwhile, Furman tailback Devin Wynn was named the Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week yesterday.

Furman has climbed to number seven in the latest AFCA FCS football poll. Wofford is ranked number 20 while North Dakota State remains at number one.

The South Carolina women’s soccer team will host Samford this Saturday at 6pm in the first round of the NCAA women’s soccer tournament after winning the SEC championship. The Clemson women’s soccer team also was selected for the field as the Tigers will host Vanderbilt at 5pm Friday at Historic Riggs Field.

The Clemson women’s basketball team will host Alabama tonight at Littlejohn Coliseum with a 7pm tip-off.

The Furman men’s basketball team will try to go 3-0 on the season as they travel to Charleston Southern tonight with a 7:30pm tipoff.
