Sports Update For Wednesday, March 6th, 2019; Walhalla Defeats Palmetto In Season Baseball Opener

Walhalla defeated Palmetto in their high school baseball opener last night by a score of 3-2. Alec Woodard pitched 6.2 innings with six strikeouts for the Razorbacks. Walhalla will travel to Stephens County, GA for a game tonight with a 6pm first pitch. 

In high school softball action, Walhalla lost to Liberty 11-3. Lydia Phillis of Walhalla had two hits while Harlie Poore and Shelby Duckett had extra base hits for the Lady Razorbacks. Duckett also pitched six innings and had four strikeouts. 

Seneca will play their season opening game in baseball tonight at Greenville with a 6pm first pitch. 

The Southern Wesleyan baseball team will host Newberry this afternoon with a 6pm first pitch. 

Clemson defeated Furman last night at Fluor Field in college baseball in Greenville by a score of 3-1. Clemson will travel to Notre Dame for a game tonight in the ACC in basketball with a 9pm tip-off. 

The South Carolina basketball team went on the road last night and defeated Texas A&M in the SEC by a score of 71-54. South Carolina defeated The Citadel in baseball yesterday by a score of 9-0. The Gamecocks will host Gardner-Webb at Founder’s Park in Columbia this afternoon at 4pm.
