Sports Update For Wednesday, November 13th, 2019; #3 clemson to hose wake forest on senior day in death valley saturday

(Seneca, SC)——-The Clemson Tigers rose two spots last night to #3 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings and this weekend, the Tigers will play Wake Forest in their final ACC game of the season.

The Tigers clinched the Atlantic Division Championship last week with a win over N.C.State combined with the Demon Deacons loss to Virginia Tech.

It will also be the last home game of the season for Clemson and Senior Day as well, which Clemson Coach Dabo Swinney says is a time of mixed emotions.

“This is a great week. It’s a fun week. But it’s a little bit sad, too, every year,” says Coach Swinney. “You know, because, again, I love home games. And there’s just nothing better to me than being in the season, just the challenge every week and being with the team. It’s just nothing like a game day in the valley.”

Other games in the ACC this weekend includes North Carolina at Pitt tomorrow night, plus, Alabama State at Florida State, Virginia Tech at Georgia Tech, Syracuse at Duke and Louisville at North Carolina State on Saturday.

In the second round of the AAAA high school football Upper State Playoffs Friday night, B-HP will travel to Greenville, Wren will host Greer, Westwood will be at Daniel and A.C. Flora will host Ridge View.

In college basketball last night, Furman defeated Charleston Southern last night by a score of 91-47 to go 3-0 on the season.

The Clemson women’s basketball team fell to 1-2 after a 67-54 loss to Alabama last night.

The Clemson men’s soccer team will host Pitt tonight at 6pm at Historic Riggs Field in the semifinals of the ACC men’s soccer tournament. The Tigers are ranked #1 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll.

The South Carolina men’s soccer team will take on Florida International tonight at 7pm in Norfolk, VA in the Conference USA soccer tournament.
