Sports Update For Wednesday, October 23rd, 2019; Seneca and West-oak preparing for Thursday Night football; walhalla vs. palmetto still on for friday night

(Seneca, SC)——Seneca and West-Oak High Schools have announced that their football games this week have been moved from Friday night to Thursday night due to the possibility of rain Friday night.

Seneca will travel to Iva to take on Crescent while West-Oak will travel to Powdersville. Both games will still kick-off at 7:30pm.

As of late yesterday morning, the Walhalla at Palmetto game was still scheduled for Friday night with a 7:30pm kickoff in Williamston.

Seneca Football Coach David Crane discussed some of the logistical challenges that are involved when a football game is moved from a Friday night to a Thursday night.

“Obviously, yeah, there’s a lot of moving parts. that we’ve got to juggle,” says Coach Crane. “Everything from getting your buses lined up and your driver’s lined up to your film crew, ball boys, all of those support staff people, just to make sure you juggle all those moving parts. And on, by the way, getting your football team ready to play as well.”

#4 Clemson will be back in action in the ACC Saturday night as the Tigers host Boston College with a 7:30pm kickoff.

The Tigers defense will face one of the best running backs in the country in Eagles Back A. J. Dillon.

“Dillon, I mean he is 250 pounds and he is going to go through you, you know, Dillon will just drag you,” says Clemson Head Football Coach Dabo Swinney. “You might be on him but he’s ragging you. He’s just a big, big physical old school back. You know, he is just one of those guys you see at the NFL level each week, so it’s a challenge. I think it is a big challenge, especially our back seven guys.”
