Sports Update For Wednesday, September 18th, 2019; Clemson steps out of Conference Saturday to host charlotte at death valley

(Seneca, SC)—-#1 Clemson will step out of conference Saturday evening in Death Valley when they host 2-1 Charlotte out of Conference USA.

Coach Swinney said yesterday that Charlotte will present some challenges for his team and he expects the Tigers to have a mature attitude towards Saturday’s game with the 49ers in Death Valley which will kickoff at 7:30pm.

“It’s college football. Anything can happen, especially early in the season, because no one knows anything about anybody, at this point,” says Coach Swinney.

“I think it is important for us this week to show some maturity and respect for the preparation process,” continues Swinney. “That’s one of the reasons we have been a very consistant program. We get ready for what the opponent does but it is always about Clemson.”

Meanwhile, the Seneca Bobcats will be looking for their first win of the season when they return home to Tom Bass Field and Bobcat Stadium Friday night to host the 2-1 Palmetto Mustangs.

Seneca Football David Crane says the Bobcats continue to work hard on correcting mistakes that will enable the team to be successful.

“Hopefully we eliminate those negative plays,” says Coach Crane. “We have talked to the kids and told the kids earlier this week that there is an old saying in football that ‘You first have to avoid losing and then go and win the game.’”

94.1 The Lake will have coverage of Friday night’s Seneca – Palmetto game with a kickoff set for 7:30pm.
