Sports update For Wednesday, September 25th, 2019; #1 Clemson heads back into ACC Play This Weekend at North carolina

(Seneca, SC)———#1 Clemson will head back into play in the ACC this weekend as they hit the road for a Saturday afternoon game in Chapel Hill against North Carolina with a kickoff set for 3:30pm.

Clemson Football Coach Dabo Swinney said that the new coaching staff, headed up by Head Coach Mack Brown at North Carolina, has made a difference in the Tar Heel team this year.

“Obviously 2-2 but could very easily be 4-0. They’ve gotten down in some games but they don’t go away, they keep coming back,” says Coach Swinney. “The biggest thing I would say in watching North Carolina is you can tell and see the influence of the new staff and Coach Brown and what they are trying to do with the program and the culture there.

“You can tell the guys are listening; they believe in what they are talking about,” says Coach Swinney. “The play incredibly hard, regardless if it is 21-0 or the game is on the line at the end of the game. They play really, really hard and they have got some pieces. Like I said, they could easily be 4-0 and they are definetly capable to beating us.”

The South Carolina Gamecocks return home to Williams Brice Stadium for an SEC East matchup Saturday night against Kentucky in a game you can hear right here on the Lake.

It was announced yesterday that Gamecock Defensive Back Jamyest Williams has left the program but according to Gamecock Will Muschamp, it is business as usual for Carolina.

“No different than we have before, we will be fine,” says Coach Muschamp. “He just wants another opportunity. We support him 100%, love coaching Jam but we are moving forward.”
