St. Paul’s Episcopal Church In Pendleton Celebrating 200th Anniversary June 8th

(Seneca, SC)———St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Pendleton will be celebrating their 200th anniversary of its founding on Saturday, June 8th from 11am until 3pm. The event is free and open to the public. 

The event will feature guided tours of the church and churchyard, live music, ice cream, cookies and lemonade. 

The church was established on June 17th, 1789 and was the “mother church” to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Clemson. Among the notable names buried in the cemetery of the church is Thomas Green Clemson and his wife, Anna Maria Calhoun, as well as Mrs. John C. Calhoun, the wife of John C. Calhoun. 

Holy Trinity Clemson holds twice monthly services in the church, as well as other events throughout the year. 

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is located at 328 E. Queen Street in Pendleton.
