Start School Year off right by being Prepared

Excitement surrounds the start of another school year in Oconee County and getting kids to bed tonight could be difficult.  Oconee County Schools Assistant Superintendent Earnestine Williams says being prepared will help.  “It is very exciting when you see the students come back after the summer and also you get to see the parents again, so its just that community event where everyone comes together and excited to get their kids back to school.  Just as a parent myself when my girls were in school, the biggest thing was just to be ready.  Get your backpack ready, have everything organized and ready to because parents don’t sleep and unfortunately the principals and teachers don’t sleep because they are anxious as well.  So, it is just a lot of excitement for everyone but just being ready to go the next morning when you do get a little bit of sleep and wake up.” For more information on the start of school in Oconee County, visit the school district’s website at www.oconee.k12.sc.us.
