STATE INMATE LABOR ARRIVES IN OCONEE

Three inmates from the South Carolina Department of Corrections have arrived at the Oconee Detention Center, and Sheriff Mike Crenshaw says they will be placed on work details. Oconee County has employed state labor in the past, but these three are the first since the start of a program called “Life after Lockup.” Crenshaw says, “We will assist these folks with obtaining GEDs, driver’s license, etc. If they work and have no discipline issues, we have a list of companies willing to hire them as employees upon their release.”
