State of Clemson Address set for Today

The Clemson Area Chamber of Commerce will host the annual State of Clemson Address today at Clemson University’s Madren Center. Clemson Mayor J.C. Cook and Clemson University Provost Doris Helms will be the headline speakers at the event, intended to brief the city’s business community on what to expect in the coming year. University trustees tapped Helms to operate as chief executive of the university while President James F. Barker is on medical leave after his January heart surgery. His return date is yet to be determined. The State of Clemson Address is set to begin at 11:30am. It is scheduled to include the announcement of the winners of the Catherine Smith and Abernathy-Cox One Clemson awards.
